This rule, if passed, will fundamentally alter the informed decision making and counseling process allowed between physicians and patients regarding family planning and basic women's health services.
Today is the LAST DAY that the Department of Health and Human Services is accepting public comment regarding this gag rule.

ACOG's official statement on 2/8/2017 regarding this: " ACOG opposes all political interference in the patient-physician relationship. The negative impacts of the global gag rule are known. This policy places an unacceptable barrier on women's health care providers' ability to provide evidence based quality care and will result in women losing access to maternal, newboard, and child health care, contraception, and HIV prevention and care."
